Mendon, Vermont Mendon, Vermont Mendon, Vermont Mendon, Vermont State Vermont Mendon is a town in Rutland County, Vermont, United States.

The town name changed "Parkerstown" after it took in a tract of territory in November 1804.

Finally, the town was retitled to "Mendon" in November 1828. Mendon was one of thirteen Vermont suburbs isolated by flooding caused by Hurricane Irene in 2011. According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the town has a total region of 38.1 square miles (99 km2), of which 0.03% is water.

Aitken State Forest is positioned in Mendon.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,028 citizens , 410 homeholds, and 296 families living in the town.
